We’ve built two simple, powerful apps — PootleWriter and PootlePhotos — to make creating and publishing WordPress content easier than ever. But just as important as usability is privacy and security. So here’s something we want you to know:
We never see your content. Not even for a moment.
How It Works (Without the Tech Jargon)
Everything you create in our apps — from words to images — is sent directly from your browser to your own WordPress site. There’s no middleman, no cloud server in between, and nothing passes through us.
This is possible because our apps connect to your WordPress site using something called the WordPress REST API, a secure way to publish content online. We authenticate using Application Passwords, a built-in WordPress feature designed to let trusted apps connect safely to your site without sharing your main login.
To keep things even more private, we use your browser’s local storage to save your drafts and settings. That means everything you write or upload stays on your own device until you choose to publish it — we don’t store anything on our end.
Why This Matters
🔒 Privacy First – Because your content never touches our servers, we couldn’t read it even if we wanted to. What you create stays yours.
🛡 Secure by Design – Application Passwords give our apps limited, specific access to your WordPress site — and nothing else. It’s a safer way to connect.
💾 Local Storage, Local Control – Your drafts and data live on your device, not in the cloud. That’s faster, safer, and gives you full control over your work.
🚀 Direct Publishing – Skip the middleman. What you create in PootleWriter or PootlePhotos is published straight to your site, instantly and securely.
We're building tools that respect your privacy while helping you create great content. Whether you’re writing a blog post or uploading images, you’re always in control.
