How security works with Pootle Photos

PootlePhotos prioritizes security through a direct device-to-WordPress architecture that eliminates middleman servers where breaches could occur. Your photos never touch our servers—they travel directly from your device to your WordPress site over HTTPS.

The app uses WordPress Application Passwords (limited-permission tokens) instead of your main credentials, which can be individually revoked without compromising your account. On mobile devices, these credentials are securely stored using iOS Keychain or Android Keystore encryption systems, while the web version uses browser storage.

The app includes no analytics or tracking code, collects no user data beyond what's needed for posting, and maintains a minimal security footprint by avoiding unnecessary permissions or third-party services.
