How to create a WordPress to Mailchimp landing page

I often get asked when running my WordPress training courses ‘how do you create a WordPress to Mailchimp landing page‘.

So here’s a short tutorial that shows you a nice simple way to do it.

To achieve this I’m using the following three plugins

Mailchimp for WordPress – this lets you create your forms and link your WordPress website to Mailchimp.
Pootle Pagebuilder – this lets you create cool looking landing pages in WordPress.
Site Origin CSS – this lets you tweak the design of your Mailchimp form.

Absolute fantastic tutorial. It’s so good to be able to follow along. So many of these online tutorials go to fast and take for granted that some people following them are not familiar with what a plugin even is. Thank You great job

Very cool, thanks for putting that together with nice short videos, Jamie!

Is there a way to include a hidden field in the form that maps to a Mailchimp field used for segmentation? I want 2 or 3 landing pages for different content and I want to know which landing page new subscribers have come from (ie what content they requested to download). I know how to add the code for a standard Mailchimp form, but can’t see any way of doing it in the Mailchimp for WordPress plugin

  I guess another way it might work would be if Mailchimp would recognise each form on my WordPress site as a different source and I could then segment the list by source. Thoughts on getting that to work?

Hello,
Nice video, but I have followed directions and I do not have the “customize page” icon on the top menu. When I click “customize” I’m customizing all the pages. Please advise. Thanks.

thanks for the advice and videos! the one thing i still can’t do is make it so when they click sign up it gives them something by redirecting them. so i am trying to get them to provide their email to access some information, and ill need that to pop up as soon as they subscribe, any advice? I’ve been trying for a while and a number of plugging with not much luck, i tried mail munch part of mail chimp which done it perfect for the desktop site (www.shoottheroute.com/travel) but on a phone the text is all over the place and doesn’t seem to scale like it does on other pages. it also adds a HUGE chunk at the bottom advertising mail much which looks awful! so its not useable. can you help? Thanks in advance! 🙂

Hi, I have downloaded the plugin but it did not work for me. When I created the live page I was not able to edit the page at all. Any suggestions???
It did have in the information that Warning: This plugin has not been tested with your current version of WordPress.

  Hi , this is likely caused by another plugin causing a problem (especially any caching plugins)

  Hi Danielle, I had this problem also! I host with SiteGround who are AMAZING, and I got onto support as it was something to do with a file that would not allow the plugin use due to my domain being secure across it’s entirety.
  
  They must have done something to change a file that got it all working perfectly for me.
  
  Hope your hosting provider can help you to resolve your own issue.

Well, what you really want from a squeeze page is it is the first page that comes up when you go to the site. When someone fills in their email (and perhaps you give them something for giving you their email address), it should then add them to the mail list and then take them to your actual home page.

I cant find the customization page to hide the header and the footer,what do I do to make it appear on my dashboard?

  Couldn’t either, but under page builder in the menu, you can clik upgrade.
  
  Apparently you have to pay 99$ a year for the premium version, where this feature is available.
