Most of the posts we get around themes in our PootlePress Academy support forums can be solved by tweaking CSS. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets and it defines how all the elements on your website are displayed.
CSS is easy, but it is code and can therefore be a bit scary. That’s why we have launched a new 8 video course all about CSS for Academy Members called CSS for Beginners. We have really tried to keep it simple for you.
Even if you know a little CSS, we would still recommend this course as understanding it properly from the ground up will save you time in the long run, when something goes wrong!
Here are the first two videos from the 8 video course for you a sample:
1) Introduction
2) What is CSS?
Here is the full course outline:
1) CSS introduction (1 min 13 secs)
2) What is CSS? (4 min 03 secs)
3) How to tweak your website (with Firebug) (3 min 02 secs)
4) How to apply your CSS tweaks with Jetpack (3 min 38 secs)
5) How to write your own CSS (1 min 25 secs)
6) How to add your own CSS styles to your site (4 min 12 secs)
7) Using CSS classes and ids with divs (2 min 05 secs)

If you are not yet a member of the Academy, then why not consider becoming a member. Read the benefits of membership here.
